LAW OF RECIPROCITY, UNCONSCIONABILITY LAW, CITIZENSHIP & COUNTRY (WIP)

(EYEPERSPECTIVE)

Quote: It is not only what you have done for the country, but it is also about what the country has done for you. It is called the "Law of Reciprocity"

 - Dr Srikanth S Kidambi

A country's citizenship is a contract between the country and the citizen, where the country promises that it will take care of the citizen through means such as "Bill of Rights", Civil rights law, Equality and Discrimination laws and more , and the citizen in turn promises to meet the rule of law and fulfill civic and other constitutional duties for the country. However, if the country is not fulfilling its side of things then, by law of reciprocity and unconscionability law (both procedural and substantive fairness), that contract is voided. In that case, it is not fair to expect the citizen to pay exit tax and more, especially those who have decided to forego their citizenship for better opportunities and better environment for themselves, where rule of law really works beyond what is written on papers and billboards. However, there are others who exploit the system, and prospered and/or plundered, and decide to leave to protect their assets. This is where the government should look into defining a flexible system that looks in the relinquishment process on a case by case basis. At the same time, when the rule of law itself is questionable, I am not sure how this case by case decision would work. More soon.
